2008
Prize Winners
More than
35,000 people have gone online to find out ways they can save
the snowman and learn about reducing greenhouse gasses.
Lucky Adrienne
Johnson from East Brunswick won a pack of five Mt Buller one-day
ski lift passes which was up for grabs in the random prize draw.
Twelve-year-old Adrienne said she is rapt and is hoping to use
the passes at Mt Buller this summer. "The Mt Buller lift
passes are really cool because I love mountain bike riding in
summer. I like riding fast down the hills and with the lift passes
I can catch the chairlift back to the top. I also love skiing
so I'll use it in winter too," Adrienne said. "The game
was lots of fun. I think it's really clever because it lets you
know that you can help the environment and save black balloons
by doing things like switching off appliances and using less hot
water." The lift passes were kindly provided by Buller Ski
Lifts Pty Ltd.
Bec Kennedy
from Hoddles Creek won a set of TRAB skis provided by the Lake
Mountain Alpine Resort Management Board.

The Keep
Winter Cool or the Snowman gets It game was developed as part
of the 'Keep Winter Cool' climate change initiative which is a
partnership between the Alpine Resorts Co-ordinating Council (ARCC),
the Australian Alps Liaison Committee, the NSW National Parks
and Wildlife Service (NPWS), and the Australian Ski Areas Association
(ASAA). The game was developed by a team of computer animation
students at Swinburne University and was funded through a partnership
with the Victorian Government's Energy Saving Campaign, better
known as the 'Black Balloons' campaign.
